Project Overview:
The Center is affiliated with the Sisters of Santa Marguerita and Mary of the Poor. It provides social services to the community in the form of food, health education and prevention of diseases. It also provides educational materials, seminars and free health screening to over 5,000 individuals per year. The center currently has two doctors who volunteer on a part time basis and has three programs that focus on prevention and control of diabetes, hypertension, and prenatal care. Services are free to the needy and those who are able to contribute, pay on a sliding scale. The clinic schedules about 250 appointments per month to address primary medical issues include diabetes, high blood pressure, and pre-natal care.
